Spartans Wrestling Held Scoreless in Home Loss

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque hosted #8-ranked Loras College on Friday night in front of a loud crowd of wrestling fans and it would fall in favor of the Duhawks by a 49-0 margin.
A recent addition to the squad, Tevin Bailey (So., Reno, Nev./Damonte Ranch HS), lost a hard fought match at 184 lbs. to Javier Soto by a 1-5 score. The rest of the matches were all extra point victories. The Spartans return to action next week at Coe College on Feb. 8 before hosting the Simpson College Storm on Senior Night on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
UD will compete in the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional hosted by Loras College at Five Flags Center in Dubuque on Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. The 17 teams competing include: Augustana College (Illinois), Buena Vista University, Central College, Coe College, Cornell College, Huntingdon College, Loras College, Luther College, MacMurry College, Millikin University, Nebraska Wesleyan University, North Central College, Simpson College, University of Dubuque, University of the Ozarks (Arkansas), Wartburg College, and Westminster College (Missouri).
