UD Holds Share of Lead After Day One Of A-R-C Championship

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's golf team is tied at the top of the leaderboard with Central College after an opening round of 327 (+39) of the American Rivers Conference Championship. Daniela Miranda posted a score of 74 (+2) to lead all individuals. 

The Spartans and Dutch lead third-place Luther by eight (8) strokes. Luther's team score of 335 sits just one stroke ahead of Wartburg (336). Simpson entered the tournament as the number five-seed and remains there after round one with a team score of 347. Buena Vista holds sixth-place (376), followed by Loras in seventh (382), Nebraska Wesleyan in eighth (401), and Coe in ninth (450). 

To go along with Miranda, there are three Spartans in the top ten and all five UD golfers are tied for 21st or better. Megan Gille sits in fourth place after shooting an 80 and Madison Bowers rounds out the top 10 with an 84. Elizabeth Stalla and Madeline Sturm both recorded a first round score of 89 to sit tied for 21st.

The Spartans tee off round two at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
