BOXSCORE vs. Coe

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team led for the better part of Wednesday's game only to have it ripped out of their grasps on a made three point basket by the Coe College Kohawks at the buzzer, in a 78-81 defeat.

Jaden Kelly led UD with 15 points off the bench. Miah Smith had 13 points, but grabbed a game high 14 rebounds. Abigail Zurcher addded 11 points, and the duo of Amari Sims and Lexi Daniels would each score 10 points in the heart breaking loss at home. The Spartans third quarter lead of 64-56 would be short lived after the visiting Kohawks out scored the Spartans in the final 10 minutes of action by a 25-14 margin.

UD (3-20 overall, 1-13 in A-R-C play) travel across the state to face the Buena Vista University Beavers (6-17 overall, 1-13 in A-R-C) on Saturday. The last meeting on January 12 fell in favor of the Spartans by a 86-77 margin. After Wednesday, both UD and Buena Vista would be eliminated from qualifying for the 2019 American Rivers Conference Tournament. The duo trails Central (7-15 overall, 3-10 in A-R-C) by two games for the seventh spot in the league standings.
