Women's Basketball Downed by Prairie Wolves at Home

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The youth of the women's basketball team has hindered the Spartans in American Rovers Conference play, but the Spartans continue to improve each game. Saturday, the visiting Prairie Wolves would pressure the Spartans, who started four freshmen, took advantage of some early miscues to hold UD to just three made baskets in the first and second quarters. UD trailed at halftime 17-49 and would slice into that margin the final two periods ending the day with a 53-77 loss.

Destiny Davis would lead UD with nine points off the bench as 12 Spartans would find the scoring column. Miah Smith led all rebounders with 10 on the afternoon to help UD out rebound the Prairie Wolves 49-46. UD shot a chilly 21-63 from the field (33.3%), 3-21 from beyond the three point arc (14.3%), and 8-16 at the free throw line (50%). The Spartans would finish with 33 tournovers and Nebraska Wesleyan capitlized the oppportunities into 35 points.

UD will travel to face the Luther College Norse on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.
