Women's Basketball Lose to Dutch

PELLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque womenb's basketball returned to American Rivers Conference action and would play well in a slim 66-72 defeat on ther road on Wednesday night.
KIa Dwight led the Spartans with 19 points and seven rebounds. Abigail Zurcher added 14 points and Lexi Daniels had 10 points in the loss. McKenzie Maahs led the Spartans with nine rebounds and added seven points. UD trailed in rebounding 44-46 as both teams finished with 20 or more turnovers.
The Spartans sank 23-64 shot attempts, 7-25 from the three point arc, and were 13-25 at the free throw line. The Dutch were able to sink 22-28 free throw attempts to garner the edge in the victory. UD never led, but the Spartans were tied three times against the Dutch.
UD returns home as they continue A-R-C play with the Simpson College Storm on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center.
