Mar 18, 2019

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C – The University of Dubuque women’s golf team picked up where they left off in the fall, winning the North Myrtle Beach Tri-Match. Daniela Miranda picked up her first career win, shooting +8 (80) on the day.

The Spartans had a dominating performance, cruising to the team title in the opening match of the spring season, winning by 71 strokes. UD individuals took the top two spots on the leaderboard and six of the top eight.

Daniella Miranda edged out Madison Bowers for the individual title with scores of +8 and+11, respectively. It was the first individual title for Miranda in her career.

Kaylee O’Donnell and Madeline Sturm turned in solid performances that were good enough to tie them for third at +16.

“We played well for only having a couple day of outside practice. Our team has had a great off-season and it’s great to kick off the spring season with a team win," said Director of Golf Dustin Bierman. "I am very happy for Daniela who won the individual title with an 80 on a very tough golf course. It was awesome to see Kaylee O’Donnell play well because she has worked very hard on her game the last couple months.”
