Women's Golf Halted by Rain in Final Day of Sail Classic

Sep 3, 2018

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The women's golf swung into their season on Saturday at Pheasants Ridge Golf Course (Par 72, 5877 yards). It wasn't just competitors the squads faced, but mother nature and a soggy course. The Spartans finished day one of the two day tourney with one team in sixth place after firing a 327 and the B team shooting a round of 349 to sit at eighth place.

On Sunday, the teams woke up to more rain and the second day winner would be Mother Nature. Day two would be cancelled and leading the Spartans individually was Daniela Miranda who shot a seven over par 79 in the tough conditions. Trailing closely behind was Madison Bowers who finished with an 80.

The Spartans will travel to Monmouth College on Sept. 8-9 for the Monmouth College Invite held at Gibson Woods Golf Course.
