Women's Lacrosse Shutout in Season Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ill – The University of Dubuque women’s lacrosse team 2019 came to an end on Saturday after falling to Illinois Wesleyan, 19-0.

The UD offense was stifled all afternoon by Illinois Wesleyan, as the Spartans were able to only get off one shot in the contest. That shot came by Kori King with 11:50 remaining in the first half but was saved by the Illinois Wesleyan goalkeeper.

In her final collegiate game, Kaley Weir stopped eight Illinois Wesleyan shots and scooped up a team-high three ground balls. Over the course of her senior campaign, Weir started all 14 games that she played in, playing 799:26 minutes and totaled 191 saves for a save percentage of .453.

The Spartans finish the season with a record of 1-14 overall record and 1-6 mark in conference.

Two different Spartans reached double figures in goals for the 2019 season, led by senior Sara Rose with 18. Kori King joined Rose in double figures with 13 of her own.
