Women's Soccer Win Under the Lights of Oyen Field

BOX SCORE vs. UW-Oshkosh

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer improved to 4-1 on a beautiful Iowa Friday night on Oyen Field after capturing the non-conference match 2-1 over the visiting UW-Oshkosh Titans.

UD led 1-0 in the first period after Lexus Rose scored off an assist from McKenna Young at 12:11. The Spartans added a second goal in a mad scramble in front of the net with Carissa Brown getting the goal off an assist from Amanda Chlebek and Lauren Cangelosi after a corner kick at 69:40. The lone goal by UW-Oshkosh was a Spartan own goal at 86:31 to give the visiting Titans some life late in the contest.

The Spartans played aggressive all night winning many of ther 50/50 balls and finishing the night leading in corner kicks 6-4, and shots on goal 9-2. Lauren Cangelosi led the offensive front with four shots followed by Chlebek and Rose who each had three shots.
