How It Happened
-The Knights wasted no time getting on the board when Sarah Campbell found the back of the net off of a corner kick in just the third minute of action to give Wartburg the quick 1-0 lead.
-In the 36th minute it was the Spartans that took advantage of a corner kick. Alexa Martin took the corner kick, which found the head of Amanda Chlebek, who hammered it home to get the game back to even at 1-1.
-Chlebek’s goal was the lone Spartan shot in the first half, while the Knights took six but the game remained tied at one after the opening 45 minutes.
-In the 82nd minute, Wartburg’s Annie Place got open on the top, left side of the box and got off an open shot but it was right at Victoria Roethler for the easy save.
-The connection of Martin and Chlebek returned in the 85th minute. Martin once again found Chlebek off of a corner kick and Chlebek headed it into the net to put UD ahead for the first time.
