BOX SCORE vs. Buena Vista

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's basketball team trailed by just six points at halftime, but the visiting Buena Vista University Beavers  would shoot over 54% in the second half to capture the American Rivers Conference contest 93-77. Twice the Beavers journeyed to Dubuque this week and left with victories each time. A tough overtime victory on Wednesday at Loras didn't hamper the Beavers, as they forced the Spartans into a chilly shooting second half, making 11-34 attempts (32.4%).

Four Spartans would end the afternoon in double digit scoring. Mitch Burger led UD with 13 points after sinking 5-11 from the field and 2-2 at the free throw line. Dylan Hundley was 3-4 from beyond the three point arc and finished with 12 points. Cade Daugherty opened with eight first half points and was held to just three in the second half. Peter Ragen added 10 points and collected six rebounds. Brock Simon would grab eight rebounds including five offensive boards, but UD would be out rebounded in the game 37-41.

The Beavers led in the paint by scoring 44 of their points inside the lane as UD was held to 20 points. The Spartans bench would score 37 of the squad's 77 points. Fourteen Spartans saw action on Saturday and all, but one would score.

UD will continue their home stretch by hosting the Central College Dutch (4-10 overall, 1-4 in A-R-C) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center. Simpson beat the Dutch on Saturday 91-71.
