WEST DUNDEE, Ill. - The University of Dubuque men's golf team opened day one with a round of 314 at the Carthage College Tim Kopka Memorial Tournament on Friday afternoon. A very competitive field would have the Spartans battling for a finish with the returning national champions firing the low round of 281.
Alex Staver led UD with a round of 76, just five over Par on the Par 71, a 6,599 yard course at Randall Oaks Golf Club. The second round will continue on Saturday, Sept. 7.
