CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque scored eight placewinners and one champion on Saturday at the 2019 Coe College Invite. Teams competing included: #15-ranked University of Chicago, #9-ranked Coe College, Cornell College, University of Dubuque, Graceland University, Minnesota State-Mankato, Missouri Baptist University, Northern Iowa Area Community College, and Simpson College. No team scores were kept.
Battling through the 133lbs. bracket, Brandon Hazleton won by fall over Morgan Montgomery (Simpson) (Fall 1:49) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal Hazelton won by hard fought decision over Brock Henderson (Coe) (Dec 3-0). In the championship match for 1st Place Hazelton won by fall over Cole Gille (Minnesota State-Mankato) (Fall 2:04).
