Volleyball Swept At Buena Vista

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team fell in straight sets on the road to the Buena Vista Beavers in Storm Lake, 25-23, 30-28, 25-14.
The Spartans dropped the first two sets in nail-biting fashion by scores of 25-23 and 30-28 to fall behind two sets to none. UD was not able to rally in the third set, dropping that 25-14 to get swept and ending the weekend splitting the two matches to move to 2-3 in American Rivers Conference play.
Grace Hintze and Darby Hawtrey led UD with nine kills each. Grace Strawser held down the back line for the Spartans with a team-high 21 kills.
The Spartans take a week off from conference play to travel to UW-Platteville on Wednesday, Oct. 16th, before hosting Marian University on Friday, Oct. 18th.
