LISLE, Ill. - The University of Dubuque overcame a halftime deficit 34-45 to the North Central Coillege Cardinals and would rally in the second half for an 80-75 road victory to a 2-0 start of the 2019 season.

Four Spartans would finish the afternoon in double digit socring. Tabria Thomas led UD's scoring with 15 points, four steals, and three assists. Alli Bailey and Kennedy Litvinoff would both finish with 12 points. Bailey was 3-3 from the field and 6-9 at the free throw line. Josie Thomas added 11 points and was a perfect 4-4 at the line. The Spartans bench would contribute 48 points for head coach mark Noll. A trio of Spartans grabbed six rebounds each: Tabria Thomas, Alli Bailey, and Miah Smith, but UD was out rebounded by the hosts 45-42.

The stat of the game was at the free throw line after the two squads committed 61 fouls in the contest. The Spartans sank 31-43 free throw attempts (72.1%) while North Central made 26-39 (66.7%). The Spartans defense forced the Cardinals into committing 20 turnovers and held their shooting to 33.3% from the field. The two teams would each make five shots from beyond the three poiint arc UD (5-15 attempts) and North Central (5-19 attempts).

The Spartans will travel to Wisconsin Dells, Wis. on Nov. 20 when they face Northland College at 6 p.m. and continue their road trip to Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.
