Women's Golf Dominates On Sunday To Win Luther Norse Classic

DIKE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's golf team used a program best round of 310 on Sunday to pull away from the competition at day two of the Luther Norse Classic and took home the team title with a score of 627 (+51). Daniela Miranda took home medalist honors amond all individuals after shooting 150 (+6).

The Spartans went into the second and final round on Sunday with just a one stroke lead over Wartburg, but outshot the next best team on Sunday by three strokes and Wartburg by six strokes to pull away from the competition. 

Miranda, the junior from Woodstock, Illinois, picked up where she left off last season on her way to winning by four strokes among all individuals. Two other Spartans joined her in the top-10, with Madison Bowers tying for fifth place at +12 and Madeline Sturm finishing tied for seventh at +13.

In her first collegiate meet, Sydney Killeen would shoot 16 over par to tie for 13th place. Mary Edwards and Megan Gille would round out the top-20 individual finishers after both posted a final score of +20 to tie for 20th place.

The UD women head to Waverly, Iowa next weekend for the Wartburg College Invite at the Prairie Links Golf Club.
