DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women’s soccer team scored early and often on Saturday afternoon on their way to a dominating 11-1 win over Buena Vista.

How It Happened
-Alexa Martin set the tone early for the Spartans, taking the first shot of the game just 39 seconds in and the Spartan attack put the pressure on the Beavers for the rest of the 90 minutes.
-The Spartans finally found the back of the net on their eighth shot of the first half, coming from Natalie Diesntbach in the 18th minute. UD would get goals from Molly Schiltz and Brooke Brodzinksi in the next two minutes to make it 3-0 UD in the 21st minute.
-Dienstbach recorded her second goal of the contest when she corralled a rebound off a shot from Alexa Martin and put in home to make it 4-0.
-In the 34th minute, Baylee Vincent recorded the first goal of her collegiate career to put UD ahead 5-0.
-Alexis Turner, Brianna Muzi and Jessica Rost would score the final three goals of the first half to send UD into half up 8-0. The goals for Muzi and Rost were the first of their careers.
-Meghan Moorman and Ellory Barnette would start the second half with goals of their own to balloon the lead all the way up to 10-0 in the 63rd minute.
-Jessica Rost would cap the scoring for the Spartans at 11 goals with her second goal of the day in the 84th minute.
-The Spartans 43 shots attempted against the Beavers is a program best, breaking the previous mark of 40 set in 2002.
-UD assisted on nine of their 11 goals, led by senior Alexa Martin with 3.
