Women's Soccer Stifled at Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Dubuque women's soccer team struggled in the rainy weather on Wednesday night, as they fell victim to their crosstown rival, Loras College, 6-0.

How It Happened
-In just the fifth minute of action, the Duhawks found the lower right corner of the net to put the Spartans in an early 1-0 hole.
-The Duhawks would continue to keep the Spartans back on their heels as they would add two more goals before the 15 minute mark, to make it 3-0 in favor of Loras.
-Loras would add two more goals before the end of the half put the Spartans down 5-0 at halftime. The Spartans had not given up more than two goals in any previous game this season.
-The Duhawks tacked on yet another goal in the 55th minute to balloon their lead to 6-0.
-In the 70th minute, Brook Brodzinksi had the best UD scoring chance to date, firing a shot from nearly 30 yards out while falling over, but the shot was saved near the top, right portion of the net.
-Four different Spartans would attempt one shot, with Molly Schiltz and Brooke Brodzinski planting the only two on net.
