Wrestling Moves Into NWCA Top-25 Rankings

MANHEIM, Pa. - The University of Dubuque wrestling team have grinded their way into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Top-25 National Team Rankings this week. In the Dual meet rankings #5 released on Jan. 29, the Spartans enter the poll at #24 with an 8-2 dual meet record. The Spartans join five other American Rivers Conference teams in the Top-25.

The Spartans edged out #20 Central College last week 21-20 at the A-R-C Duals held in Pella. In the most recent d3wrestle.com individual rankings, the Spartans have two wrestlers getting attention. UD's Brenden Hazelton (133 lbs.) is being listed as a honorable mention and teammate Daryl Aiello at 285 lbs. is listed as a contender in the weight class. The Spartans (8-2 overall, 2-2 in the A-R-C) will face the Simpson College Storm (2-10 overall, 0-5 in A-R-C) on Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in Indianola.

The 2020 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships is coming to the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Be a part of the action as the American Rivers Conference hosts the 2020 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Regional rounds take place Feburary 29-March 1, 2020. 180 qualifiers will emerge from the Regional rounds to line up inside the U.S. Cellular for the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships March 13-14, 2020.
