Bachelor of Science: Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is the study of Information Security - the perfect major for people who want to use technology to solve crimes or want to ensure that computer equipment is well secured and protected against hacker attacks. Since 9/11, there has been a greatly increased need for people in the security fields. At the University of Dubuque, in the UD Global program, your online studies will take you into the world of cybersecurity. You will leave ready to build a career in digital forensics or IT infrastructure security.

JOBS: The Cybersecurity program prepares graduates for careers as Risk Advisors, Security Consultants, Computer Forensics Specialists, Computer Forensics Examiners, and Networking and Security Specialists.

Salary Expectations: The average starting salary for a recent cybersecurity graduate with no experience is approximately $65,000 to $70,000 but can range from $50,000 to $100,000 depending on factors like location, specific role, and company.

Bachelor of Business Administration: Business

Business is the study of for-profit and nonprofit enterprises, including entrepreneurship. At the University of Dubuque, in the UD Global program, your online studies will build a path to explore the business disciplines of accounting, finance, marketing, management, human resources, and economics to provide you with a distinct understanding of various industries. Students will leave the University of Dubuque with the knowledge and skills to be successful contributors to their organization and society.

JOBS: Opportunities for Business majors are as varied as the field itself. Every organization - for-profit and nonprofit alike - cares about the strategic approach to the effective management of an organization such that they help the company gain a competitive advantage. Online UD Global FAQs

How do online courses work?

UD Global offers students flexibility to earn a degree on their own time. Students will be able to access their online courses from anywhere at any time. Although there are deadlines for assignments to help students stay on pace, there are no required daily login times or virtual class times that you will have to attend.

How long does each online course last?

UD Global courses are offered in accelerated seven-to-eight-week sessions, allowing students to make steady progress towards their degree.

How many courses can I take at a time?

With UD Global, you can take up to two courses online per session. Taking two courses every session gives students the opportunity to earn up to 36 credit hours within a year.

What information do I need to provide to be considered for acceptance?

You will need to complete and submit the UD Global application. We will need an official high school transcript (if you are transferring less than 24 credits) and official college transcripts from every institution you have previously attended.

When will I be able to begin classes with UD Global?

UD Global offers rolling admissions with six start dates per year. Students can apply and register year-round.

Do I need a specific computer or technology to complete the online courses?

Students will need to have access to a computer or laptop that has access to a web camera, reliable internet, and updated web browsers like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

If I am out of state, will my tuition cost be higher?

No, with UD Global we offer the same flat-rate tuition for all students.
