Are you Spartans Ready for Fall 2026?

Spartans Ready is the University of Dubuque's official student clearance process to help ensure that students have completed all the necessary steps before each semester.

Whether you're a new or returning undergraduate student, we want to make sure that you can start classes on time and make the most of your UD experience.

Once you finish all required items on your checklist, you'll be Spartans Ready for the upcoming term.

Who Needs to be Spartans Ready?

Spartans Ready applies to all new and returning undergraduate students who are enrolling at the University of Dubuque.

You must complete the Spartans Ready Checklist before the start of each new semester.

 


Spartans Ready Checklist - New Students

The steps below are required to be Spartans Ready. Some steps may not need to be done in a specific order, but all must be completed prior to the start of classes.

1. Confirm Your Enrollment

Before beginning Spartans Ready, new first-year and transfer students must confirm their intent to enroll and submit a required admission deposit.

  • This formally reserves your spot at UD for the upcoming semester.

2. Register for Classes

Once you have submitted your admission deposit, sign up for an in-person registration session here or contact your Admission Counselor for more information on Distance Registration if you are unable to attend an in-person session.

New Students

  • You do not register for classes on your own.
  • The Center for Advising and Vocation will create and register first-year student schedules.
  • Transfer students will work directly with their assigned Academic Advisor.

3. Complete Financial Clearance

Financial Clearance ensures your anticipated costs for the semester are fully covered.

Important:
Your class registration and housing (if applicable) are not guaranteed until Financial Clearance is complete.

4. Submit All Final Transcripts (New Students)

Your official final transcripts (from high school and/or prior colleges) must be submitted to the Office of Admission at admssns@dbq.edu before the semester starts.

Requirements typically include:

  • No "in progress" grades,
  • Final graduation date listed,
  • Official transcript sent directly from the issuing institution, and
  • Dual enrollment, AP, IB, and CLEP credits.

(Special instructions may apply for homeschooled students.)

Spartans Ready Checklist - Returning Students

Returning students are also required to be Spartans Ready each semester.

     1. REGISTER FOR CLASSES

     2. COMPLETE FINANCIAL CLEARANCE

  • FAFSA Submitted
  • Financial Aid Offer Steps Completed on Your Financial Aid Portal
  • Balance Covered
    • Apply and be approved for a parent loan or private student loan and/or set up a payment plan or semester payment prior to the start of the semester.

     3. SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS FROM CREDITS EARNED ELSEWHERE (if applicable) Registrar@dbq.edu

     4. SELECT HOUSING AND MEAL PLANS (if applicable)

Missing any required items may delay your ability to start classes or move on campus.

How to Check Your Spartans Ready StatusAt any time, you can check your Spartans Ready progress through your MyUD student portal:

Visit your Spartans Ready dashboard in MyUD to see which items are complete and what remains. New Students - If you need help in accessing your MyUD dashboard, contact your Admission Counselor in the Office of Admission.
