As a UD Global online student, you will have free, easy access to student services and academic support from the University of Dubuque. This support includes the following:

Academic Success Center (ASC)

The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides a positive learning environment and a variety of free resources and learning support services. Virtual appointments can be scheduled using the University of Dubuque's online scheduling platform WCONLINE.

The ASC's learning support services include:

  • Accessibility Services
The University of Dubuque complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act of 2008 (ADAAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Fair Housing Act, and other applicable federal and state laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. UD encourages students with documented disabilities to fully participate in the community of the University of Dubuque. All faculty, staff, and administrators will actively support students with disabilities in all the University's educational programs, services, and activities.

Accessibility Services coordinates academic adjustments and accommodations for students with disabilities. The process involves a student-initiated review of the individual's documentation, consultations with the student to identify appropriate accommodations, production of a Verification of Individual Student Accommodations (VISA) letter, as well as support and education of campus community members who are responsible for the implementation of accommodations. UD is committed to providing access for all members of the learning community. More information can be found in the Student Handbook.

It is the responsibility of the student with a documented disability to initiate a request for reasonable accommodations, based on their disability, by contacting the Accessibility Services Coordinator at ASC@dbq.edu.
  • Learning Support
The ASC offers academic mentoring to assist students in developing the skills and habits that promote college success. Professional Learning Support Coaches provide individualized support for students as they make and carry out plans for academic and personal improvement.
  • Tutoring
Peer tutors assist students in understanding concepts, homework assignments, and preparing for exams. Tutoring appointments are course-specific, and availability varies based on staff expertise and schedules.
  • Writing Consulting
Peer writing consultants provide guidance on written assignments in any stage of the writing process. This includes brainstorming, research, content development, organization, formatting, and citations.
