For New and Transfer Students

Move-in is Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Your first stop when you arrive to campus is to check in at the 2nd floor of Peters Commons to pick up your keys and sign your housing contract.

Students who are running late and not able to arrive by 4:00 p.m. are encouraged to contact Residence Life at ResidenceLife@dbq.edu or call Brigette Kyei Nimakoh at 563.589.3519 for instruction on picking up keys and completing the check-in process.

For Returning Students

Residence Halls and Campus Housing opens Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

Move-in Tips

When moving in we ask that you please unload your vehicle entirely before unpacking. This will help ensure vehicles aren't left unattended in a fire lane and keep the front of the buildings clear for folks to unload close to the building. After you completely unload, please move and park your vehicle before returning to unpack and organize your room.

Please refer to our list of what items to bring. This also includes a list of items that are not permitted in the residence halls. Starting now, please be sure to reach out to your roommate to discuss who's bring what, and also have conversations about what you'll expect of each other. Avoid bringing too many large items by sharing your packing lists with each other.

Early Arrival Requests

We're glad you are ready to join us on campus! Our staff needs time to make sure everything is just right for you when you arrive, so unfortunately, we cannot allow early move-ins. If extenuating circumstances exist that the student believes would warrant an earlier move-in day, then the student should email ResidenceLife@dbq.edu. Requests must be made at least three business days prior to the requested arrival date. All requests must be made by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2024. Requests that are not made three business days in advance of the requested arrival date, or by the deadline above, will not be considered for approval. If a request is approved and an exception is made, the student would be charged a daily early arrival fee for housing expenses (all charges would be applied directly to the student's account).
