UD Lacrosse Set to Join CCIW in 2015

The University of Dubuque Men's and Women's Lacrosse teams have been announced as the newest members of the College Conferences of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). The Spartans will be associate members of the league beginning in 2014-15.

Heritage Center’s Bisignano Art Gallery opens its next exhibition Dubuque High School Juried Art Show today, Thursday, January 9 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The exhibition highlights works juried by the high school art teachers themselves at Dubuque Senior High School, Hempstead High School and Wahlert High School. The 16 works in the show are in various media including ceramics, painting, photography, pen and ink, multimedia, and weaving.
University Program Council presents Homefree

On Thursday, January 30, UD’s University Program Council will present the a capella band Homefree – recent winners of Season 4 of NBC’s The Sing Off. The band will perform at 8:00 p.m. in Heritage Center’s John and Alice Butler Hall.
Weather Forces Changes in UD Softball Camps on Jan. 11

The University of Dubuque softball team will be hosting their annual softball camps for grades 9-12 in the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center on Jan. 11 have some changes due to the inclement weather in the area. This week's changes are: Pitching session has been cancelled for January 11, Hitting Session will be from: 10-11:30, and Defensive Session will be from: 11:30-1:00
Spartans Track Starts Strong at Wartburg Relays

The University of Dubuque Men's Track and Field team opened the 2014 season at the Wartburg Relays on Friday night. The Spartans took Second Place (of 5 teams) with a total of 110 points. UD won five events with Rick Valcin setting a school record in the Pole Vault at 4.70m/15' 4". The Dubuque women finished in Second Place with 94 points.

The University of Dubuque Women's Track and Field team opened the 2014 season at the Wartburg Relays on Friday night. The Spartans took second place (of 5 teams) with a total of 94 points. UD won four events while setting a school record in the 1,600M Sprint Medley. The Spartan men also finished in second place with 110 points.
Spartans Pick-up Hard Earned Road Win

The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team picked-up a hard earned road victory on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans used a balanced scoring attack to win 53-52 against Central College. Jessica Goetz led UD with 10 points five rebounds, four steals, and three assists. Dubuque is now 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the Iowa Conference.
Spartans Rally from Behind to Beat the Dutch

The University of Dubuque men's basketball faced a tough opponent on their home court and rallied from a nine point halftime deficit to defeat the Central College Dutch 74-67. The win maintained the Spartans unbeaten record which now stands at 13-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Norris Named IIAC Performer of the Week for Third Time

University of Dubuque sophomore Andre Norris (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) was named IIAC Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week for the third time this season. Norris averaged 22.0 points per game as UD improved to 13-0 on year and 2-0 in the Iowa Conference. The Spartans are one of seven undefeated teams remaining in Division-III and 1 of 18 in the NCAA All-Divisions.
Hanus Named Duane Schroeder IIAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that former University of Dubuque football player Wyatt Hanus has been named the Duane Schroeder IIAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2012-2013 academic year.
