The University of Dubuque’s returning All-American receiver Tyler Rutenbeck (Sr., WR, 6-4, 186 lbs., Maquoketa, Iowa) has been selected among the 2015 Small School Prospect List on nfldraftdiamonds.com pre-season list. He is also mentioned on nfldraftscout.com for the Spartans.

Dobratz Named Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® Candidate

For 23 years the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® has served as one of the most coveted and prestigious off-the-field honors in college football. The award recognizes players whose charitable involvement and community service contributions stand out among all other student-athletes participating in the sport. University of Dubuque's Tyler Dobratz (Sr., TE, Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton HS) has been named among the 182 nominees seeking to be a finalist for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® in 2014. He is one of just three candidates submitted among the eight Iowa Conference schools.

Rutenbeck and Ravenell Named BSN Pre-season All-America

Beyond Sports Network (BSN) is proud to announce the University of Dubuque's Tyler Rutenbeck and Dominique Ravenell as members of our 2014 Preseason D3 All America Football Team. The BSN 2014 Preseason D3 All America Football Team, which is made up of 93 football players from around the country, was chosen based on returning All Americans from the 2013 BSN All America Football Team, highest vote recipients in the 2013 BSN All American Voting, statistics, and game evaluations.

Optimum Scouting and Cutting Edge Sports Management is proud to announce the University of Dubuque's Tyler Rutenbeck (WR) named to the 2014 Dream Bowl D-III Preseason All-American team along with the four other Spartans named to Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Preseason All-Conference team. Joining Rutenbeck is teammates Dominique Ravenell (OL), Blaine Snitker (LB), Reggie Cole Jr. (DB), and Vincent Whipple (DB).

Berna Achieving Success with Spartans #22-ranked Soccer Team

The University of Dubuque women’s soccer team achieved a level of success Head Coach Jason Berna has been striving for since he started the varsity program for the Spartans in 2001. Wednesday morning the Spartans earned their first ever, national ranking in Division III when the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released their Sept. 9 poll with the Spartans ranked #22 nationally. UD also earned their highest regional ranking with a #2 ranking in the North Region.

On Saturday, September 20, the University of Dubuque inducted six into the UD Hall of Fame and UD Hall of Distinction. Inducted into the UD Hall of Distinction were Dr. Judson Ott and Dennis Rima. New members of the UD Spartans Hall of Fame are: Tina Felderman (C’97,02), Keith Graves (C’83), Amanda (Dickson) Jushka (C’97), and Rod Kiolbassa (C’ 78).

The Spartans homecoming game vs. the Simpson College Storm on Oct. 11, 2014 at 4:05 p.m. The Storm 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the IIAC will face the Spartans in front of a large boisterous crowd on Saturday as they try to capture the homecoming victory in football. The Spartans hosted the first "live" televised broadcast in the Iowa Conference in the fall of 2012.

Women's Soccer 2014 IIAC Champions

The University of Dubuque women's soccer team has been waiting for this moment for 14 years. Tuesday night, Head Coach Jason Berna earned what he has been wanting since he started the soccer programs at UD, an IIAC Title. In an exciting 2-1 game over the Luther College Norse the Spartans claimed the #1 seed in the IIAC Tournament by claiming the first IIAC title in Spartans history.

University of Dubuque to Develop Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies

President Jeffrey F. Bullock announced today the development of a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Dubuque. Preparation for entry into accreditation by the Physician Assistant accrediting body, ARC-PA is now in progress. An informational session for interested students will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Heritage Center’s John and Alice Butler Hall.

Rutenbeck Signs with NFL's Washington, Myles Invited to Minnesota

The University of Dubuque's Tyler Rutenbeck (WR, 6-3, 195, Sr., Maquoketa, Iowa/Maquoketa HS) officially was signed on Thursday, May 7 to the NFL's Washington Redskins. The Spartan standout was one of 11 undrafted free agents to be announced by the club as officially signing with the team this week. Teammate Darren Myles (DB, 6-3, 216, Sr., Atlanta, Ga./Carver HS) has been invited to attend the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings don’t announce names of the players brought in for tryouts.

UD Bestows Honors

Thursday, April 30, the University of Dubuque bestowed high student, faculty, and staff honors upon six individuals and one student organization at the 2015 Honors Convocation at Heritage Center. The Student of the Year Award, University Leadership Award, Senior Academic Athletic Award, Student Organization of the Year Award, Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award, Faculty of the Year Award, and Staff of the Year Award,were announced at the conclusion of the ceremony.
