The mission of the Division of Communication, Design, Marketing, and Sport Management is to prepare students to create, communicate, and engage effectively across contemporary media, organizational, and cultural environments. Through engaged teaching and learning, students develop expertise in written, oral, visual, and digital communication while applying creative and strategic approaches to design, marketing, public relations, advertising, and audience engagement. Students develop practical skills in areas such as graphic design, animation, and web design, marketing analytics and consumer behavior as well as specialized knowledge for leadership and engagement within the sports industry, including sport marketing, event management, sport law and sport finance. Across these areas, students learn to understand audiences, create compelling messages and experiences, build meaningful relationships, and use communication and creative strategies to advance organizations and communities. Grounded in ethical practice and community engagement, the division prepares students for careers in the private, public, nonprofit, governmental, creative, and sport-related sectors.
