Women's Golf

The University of Dubuque women’s golf team offers plenty of chances to play and compete on some of the Midwest’s best golf courses. The Spartans compete in tournaments in the fall and spring semesters.

Each year the squad competes in the fall conference season and the Iowa Conference Championships held in September and October. The Spartans home course is Dubuque Golf & Country Club. The championship golf course is nestled in natural, gently rolling, well-manicured terrain while offering full-service practice facilities. There is not a better way to hone your golf skills than being a member of the Spartans golf team.

Dustin Bierman recently finished his fourth season as the Director of Golf at the University of Dubuque. Under Bierman, the Spartans have upgraded the Men’s & Women’s Golf Program. In the Fall of 2019, the women's golf team won the American Rivers Conference Championship for the first time in school history and will compete in the NCAA Championships at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in May.

In the spring of 2019, Bierman led the UD Men’s Golf team to a 4th place finish at the American Rivers Conference Championships with Brady Ellis and Garvin Paper earning all-conference honors by finishing in the top ten. The Spartans have improved their stroke average each year under Bierman and won the 2018 Knox College Invite. In the Fall of 2019 the Spartans won the Clarke University Fall Invite team title and Jordan Elliott took home medalist honors as well. Garvin Paper also took home medalist honors at the MSOE Invite at Grand Geneva Resort with rounds of 71 & 71.

Bierman has improved the women’s program every year and has won eight tournaments the last two seasons. The team has had two individuals win golf tournaments during this stretch with Megan Gille (Luther College Invite and Judson Spring Invite) and Daniela Miranda (Myrtle Beach Shootout, Monmouth College Invite, American Rivers Preview and Luther College Fall Classic) claiming medalist honors. Bierman has also coached six all-conference performers the last two seasons on the women’s team with Madison Bowers, Megan Gille and Daniela Miranda earning all-conference.

During his tenure with the Spartans, Bierman has excelled at recruiting by bring in 26 total student-athletes in his first three recruiting classes for both the men’s and women’s teams. In these three recruiting classes they have won ten team tournament titles, eight individual medalist titles and nine all-conference players.

Prior to coming to the University of Dubuque, Bierman was the head women’s golf coach at Ashford University from 2006-08. He also recruited and coached three all-conference players while with the golf program. He also led the Women’s Golf Team to two top three finishes in the Midwest Conference in two seasons.

A native of Newton, Illinois, Bierman began his college career at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois before transferring to the University of Dubuque. Bierman holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Dubuque, and completed his master’s degree in athletic administration from Loras College in 2007.

Bierman and his wife, Jackie, are the parents of two children Josie and Max.

Jordan Koehler begins her first year as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Dubuque.

Koehler played collegiately for Illinois Wesleyan University from 2015-2019. During her time at IWU, the program clinched four CCIW titles and made four NCAA National Championship appearances. Koehler had three individual wins and 16 top ten finishes during her career. She was part of the team that shot a school record of 291, and she holds IWU records for number of birdies in a season (49) and career number of birdies (176).

A native of Galesburg, Illinois, Koehler has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from IWU and will be working towards her Master’s in sports management while at UD.
