The University of Dubuque women's and men's cross country team will travel to Pella, Iowa to run in the 2014 NCAA Division III Central Regional on Saturday, Nov. 15. The women's team will complete on the 6,000m course while the men will face a challenging 8,000m course on the campus at Central College.

Women's Basketball UD Tip-Off Classic Results

The University of Dubuque Spartans opened the 2014 UD Tip-Off Classic with a 94-75 victory. In the Nightcap UW-Platteville rallied back to capture the contest over the Loras College Duhawks 70-67. Loras captured a 99-71 victory on Sunday over Edgewood and UW-Platteville edged out the Spartans 82-75.

Women’s Soccer Ties School Record with Seven IIAC Selections

The University of Dubuque and the 2014 Iowa Conference Championship women’s soccer team earned seven All-Iowa Conference selections and matched a school record 16 wins from the 2013 team. The seven honors came as no surprise after the Spartans won both the IIAC regular season title and the IIAC tournament for the first time in school history. Five of the seven honorees were repeat winners.

The University of Dubuque Spartans women's basketball team improved to 2-1 overall on Wednesday night with a 77-60 victory over the UW-La Crosse Eagles on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center. UD's defense forced the visiting Eagles into committing 30 turnovers and providing UW-L their first loss of the season.

On Thursday, December 4 the men’s basketball game between the University of Dubuque Spartans and the Clarke University Crusaders will benefit the Women Caring for Women and Children (WCWC) group and the Victim Services Shelter in Dubuque. All gate receipts will be donated to WCWC. As well, a 50/50 raffle will be held during the game and silent auction items will be available to benefit the organization. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. in Stoltz Sports Center on the University of Dubuque campus.

IIAC Releases Football All-Iowa Conference Awards

The IIAC announced today the 2014 All-Conference Football Team. The 56-member Team (there were two ties on the second team) includes 20 repeat All-Conference honorees. The Spartans earned eight All-Iowa Conference selections.

The University of Dubuque men's basketball team, last year's regular-season runner-up, picked up three first-place votes and sits second with 50 points in the 2014 IIAC Pre-season Coaches Poll recently released. The Spartans were picked second on two ballots and third on two others. The Spartans opened last weekend with a pair of victories at Caroll University Johnson Bank Classic taking the team championship. Earning all-tournament honors were Andre Norris and and Jacob Mohlis were named to the All-Tournament team for their efforts.

The University of Dubuque men's basketball team improved to 4-0 overall on Saturday and captured their second tournament title in back-to-back weekends. The Spartans trailed to the host Northwestern (Minn.) in the opening half of action by a 25-28 score, but UD would out score the hosts 44-29 in the second half to capture the 20th Annual Northwestern University ACR Homes Tournament title by a score of 79-67.

Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Academic Team Award for 2013-14

The University of Dubuque women's soccer team and men's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for having above a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. The Spartans women's soccer have a 3.45 team average for head coach Jason Berna and the men's team posted a 3.32 average for head coach Brad Johnson.
