The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team received votes for the second straight week in the D3hoops Top 25. The Spartans 8-1 record equals the best start to a season in school history.

Women's Soccer Receives NSCAA Ethics Award

The University of Dubuque Women's Soccer team has been awarded the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Ethics Award. The Spartans earned the Silver Award for receiving no red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season.

Zweifel Wins 2011-12 IIAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced today that former University of Dubuque football player Michael Zweifel has been named the Duane Schroeder IIAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Durnin Joins UD Football Staff

The University of Dubuque announced the appointment of Mike Durnin as Assistant Head Coach for the Spartans football team. Durnin joins the Spartans after being the head football coach at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, the past five seasons. He will enter his 26th year in the coaching ranks, and will be coaching the linebackers at UD.

Spartans Travel to Reno for UCS Pole Vault Summit

The University of Dubuque's vault coach Peter Dvorak will be attending the 2013 UCS National Pole Summit in Reno, Nev. on Jan. 17-19 with student-athletes: Brenda Breimon, Kashden Nelson, and Ben Clark. Dvorak will be speaking to attendees and the student athletes will be competing on Saturday, Jan. 19 beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Performing Arts, Worship, and Campus Center to be Named Heritage Center

President Jeffrey F. Bullock, today announced that the formal name of the Fine, Performing Arts, Worship, and Campus Center at the University of Dubuque is to be Heritage Center. The Center, sited at the corner of McCormick and Bennett Streets, has an expected move-in date of April 1, 2013.

The University of Dubuque men's basketball team spread the scoring around evenly and shot lights out from beyond the three point arc as they won going away at Buena Vista University on Wednesday evening by a score of 73-58.

The University of Dubuque Women's Basketball team tied a school record for wins in a season with their 16th win on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans 66-43 victory over Central College was the 12th straight overall win and 13th consecutive win at home versus the Dutch.

The event, held at organizations throughout the state during the week of February 16 – 24, is part of the national College Goal SundaySM program, offering free assistance to Iowa students and families with forms required for federal financial aid.
