Wrestling Finished 1-2 at IIAC Duals in Pella

The University of Dubuque wrestling team found one half of the Iowa Conference duals a challenge on Saturday. The Spartans faced #1-ranked Wartburg College in the first round and lost 9-36 to the Knights. In the second round, UD jumped out to an early 18-7 lead over the host, Central College before the Dutch rallied to capture the match 22-18. In the final round, the Spartans dominated Buena Vista University by a 39-3 margin.

The undefeated IIAC champs, a perfect 7-0 in 2015, held their team awards banquet as the coaches announced awards voted on by Spartan coaches and teammates.

Senator Lena Taylor to Speak on Campus

On Monday, February 8, the University of Dubuque’s Office of Multicultural Student Engagement (MSE) will host Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor, who will speak on Commitment to Education as a part of the MSE Speaker Series. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Blades Chapel on the University of Dubuque campus. The event is free and open to the public.
